SETSA
South Essex Training and Support Alliance (SETSA) provides support and training for teachers and support staff from schools across Southend and South Essex.
This includes setting up and delivering a range of Leadership programmes and facilitating several subject Network groups. We lead on projects such as the Teaching Internship Programme and signpost schools to opportunities and funding for their schools and staff. We have strong links with the local Teaching School Hub, Maths Hub, Computing Hub and English Hub. We currently utilise funding from Sport England and Southend Education Trust to maximise our training offer for the benefit of all the schools in the area. We talk to our schools and key personnel to determine what activities and support will best help our schools
SETSA also provides the Science Learning Partnership (SLP) for Southend, Essex and Thurrock. This is a DfE funded project that is led by STEM Learning, based at York University. Our brief is to provide high quality support and CPD for teachers, TAs, technicians, leaders and schools within our region and keep them up to date with national and local developments in STEM subjects. We are also the Specialist Biology SLP; leading this programme across the country.
SETSA supports the work across the Trust. This includes administering the Community conferences and community groups, providing 11+ sessions for prospective Grammar school pupils and building a SEEAT pathways CPD model for all SEEAT staff
